London Cocktail Week 2018

From the 1st – 7th October cocktail mania will, once again, sweep the city. London Cocktail Week is the world’s biggest festival of its kind and we believe it should be celebrated in style. To assist those of you looking to take life one cocktail at a time, we have compiled a list of our favourite places to shake it up. Remember, you don’t have to be a mixing whizz yourself to get involved so prepare to take your taste buds on a trip and raise a glass (or two) to our capital’s unrivalled cocktail scene! Because why limit happy to an hour when you can be ecstatic for a whole week?

Aster's Absolut Elyx

Fancy a Nordic spin on your week of cocktails? Visit the ever-inventive star of SW1. Aster and luxury Swedish vodka Absolut Elyx have joined forces to create two Scandinavian cocktails for our drink-loving nation’s week of tipples. Using traditional flavours and the award-winning vodka, so delectable that it’s dubbed as liquid silk, the collaboration have fashioned two cocktails worthy of the annual celebration. Choose from their ‘Old Negroni’ or, perhaps, the ‘Absolut-ly Aster’ – it’s safe to say that we will be trying both.

A Cocktail Street Party

In honour of London Cocktail Week 2018, Nine Lives is throwing the ultimate street party and all cocktail lovers are invited. On Saturday the 6th the awesome little neighbourhood bar is working in partnership with Kentucky brand Bulleit Bourbon and closing Holyrood Street to bring you the Frontier Block Party – complete with bespoke Bulleit cocktails, Bulleit-glazed BBQ and old skool bangers. Head for London Bridge, channel New York in the ‘80s and dance in the street.

Magical 'Moon Fizz'

Situated in the bustling Southbank Centre by the River Thames, Skylon and Tanqueray have worked their magic on our favourite British spirit for London Cocktail Week. The modern European restaurant and bar, together with the premium gin brand, has created a unique twist on a classic G&T. The result… ‘Moon Fizz’: a concoction of traditional Tanqueray gin, white wine and tonic reduction, a touch of lemon juice, topped with soda and garnished with a twist of lemon and gold flakes.

Terrific Tequila

Plateau lies in the heart of Canary Wharf and it is there that you will find a refreshingly tropical cocktail, created especially for London Cocktail Week. The French-style restaurant has combined its cocktail efforts with Don Julio Blanco – commonly referred to as ‘silver’ tequila – in a bid to keep those summer vibes alive, before the season completely collapses into Autumn.

Walk This Way Cocktail Lovers

Situated on the iconic King’s Road, Bluebird Chelsea is an institution in West London. Don’t ‘keep walking’, now it’s got your attention go on in and celebrate with the newest edition to the nest, the ‘Johnnie Walk This Way’. Teaming up with  the iconic Johnnie Walker Black Label, Bluebird are gathering together the four corners of Scotland to compliment Johnnie Walker Black with an infusion of xante, orgeat, ginger & lemongrass cordial, lemon juice, whisky barrel aged bitters and egg whites.

An Old Classic With a Twist

Don’t have the time to travel next week? Visit Chotto Matte instead, renowned for fusing the best of Japanese and Peruvian cultures. The Nikkei Negroni is their take on the old classic; Tanqueray, Campari, orange, bamboo leaves with their Nikkei formula made with tea, antica and pepper aji-amarillo. Accompanied by some of their delicious plates, such as the snake dragon roll and miso chicken from the Robata grill, it will send you right around the world and back to this wonderfully cultured kitchen in the heart of Soho, not far from the comforts of home.

Cocktails and Ceilidh

There’s only one place to be sipping cocktails on Wednesday the 3rd October and that is Mr Fogg’s Residence! Fictional explorer, Phileas J. Fogg invites all to his humble Mayfair home to enjoy a ‘Sojourn in Skye’. Talisker is the only single malt Scotch whiskey made by the sea on the shores of the Isle of Skye, and it is with this whiskey that Fogg has joined forces, to create a wee bit of Scotland in London for the night! Revel in the bespoke whiskey menu featuring curated cocktails mixed by masters before taking a tour around the dance floor exploring contemporary hits with live band ‘License to Ceilidh’.
