The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019

Daphne's

With the arrival of the ever-popular and ever-pretty Chelsea Flower Show, Daphne’s will be collaborating with the lauded china and porcelain company Wildwood to celebrate the iconic restaurant’s 55th birthday by featuring a delectable strawberry cheesecake served on Wedgwood fine bone china. In keeping with the wild strawberry theme, a floral installation will be erected, transforming Daphnes into a floral fantasy beyond your wildest dreams. With the gorgeously designed displays of finely drawn leaves, flowers, red strawberries and delicate gold foliage on crisp white bone china, it is safe to say that 55 has never looked so good!

Chat about your favourite installations while tucking into crisp courgette flowers with smoked mozzarella and sunflower pesto, grilled asparagus with prosciutto di parma and red vein sorrel, roast Devonshire lamb with broad beans, peas and violet artichokes, and tagliatelle with gamberoni, zucchine trombetta and san Marzano. Don’t forget to leave room for dessert, as you will definitely have food-envy after seeing the exclusive Wedgwood Wild Strawberry cheesecake available from the 15 – 25th of May.

Maître Choux

If you can’t get enough of your pastel-palette, pop into Maître Choux for a beautiful pastel-coloured éclair and a hot drink, or treat yourself to a Sweet Pink Afternoon Tea in the gorgeous Flower Room. Leave it to the experts at Maître Choux to perfectly pair selections of éclairs and choux with glasses of Laurent-Perrier champagne, including the classic Cuvée Rosé. You can also treat yourself to just a single glass of bubbly, along with a delicious éclair, choux, or chouquette of your choice.

Located on the iconic King’s Road and featuring pink and pastel flowers surrounding the space, the Flower Room at Maître Choux Chelsea will bring your floral dreams to life as the perfect place to enjoy a beautifully decorated éclair, choux or chouquette after a day enjoying all the sights (and smells!) at the show. With deliciously decadent pastries including their Spanish raspberry pink éclair and salted butter with homemade caramel éclair, there is sure to be a sweet treat for everyone to enjoy at Maître Choux.

Bluebird Chelsea

Reinventing the wheel with the bespoke vegan orange blossom dough bites, Crosstown doughnuts will feature centre stage on Bluebird Chelsea’s tea stand, surrounded by a selection of floral cakes from Bluebird’s pastry chef to create a stunning doughnut afternoon tea. With red velvet and rose petal cupcakes, caramel mocha choux buns, neroli blossom and strawberry macaroons and flower pots of dark chocolate mousse with yuzu curd and chocolate soil, your sweet tooth will be spoilt for choice and will surely be thanking you for treating yourself to Bluebird’s tea!

The afternoon tea will be the perfect way to relax after a day at the show, as well as enjoying some rays on their sun-soaked terrace. Head to the Chelsea landmark for some respite from the crowds of the Flower Show and indulge in floral favours which pair perfectly with a glass of refreshing champagne, coffee or tea. You dough-nut want to miss this limited time afternoon tea, running from the 21st – 25th May.
